American Certification Body (ACB) is pleased to announce a coordinated agreement with ART-FI and EMTREK to market and service the ART-MAN SAR test bench to Chinese mobile and laptop manufacturers.
ART-MAN is a new SAR (Specific Absorption Rate) testing solution that uses cutting-edge technologies to make SAR testing more accurate, faster, and easier to carry-out for the testing engineers and antenna designers.
Mike Violette of ACB said, “ART-MAN makes a difference. Mobile manufacturers who have an ART-MAN can launch their products faster, because the SAR testing is completed faster—in some cases, weeks faster. For some products, launching earlier can mean millions of dollars.”
Following a recent study released by the U.S.-based Battelle Memorial Institute, Chinese R&D spending in the high-tech sector will surpass the U.S. by 2022. China is quickly transforming from follower to leader, and Western companies worldwide are preparing to make inroads into the Chinese economy.
Benoit Derat, CEO of ART-Fi, recognizes a need for ART-MAN in China. “China needs ART-MAN, but ART-MAN needs partners if we want ART-MAN in China. We were proud to have EMTREK come on board, because they have been working in the Chinese market with great success and have built important relationships there. They are the third largest testing laboratory in China,” he said.
ART-MAN
The ART-MAN SAR test-bench, developed by ART-Fi in Paris, France, uses a three-dimensional vector network to deliver unprecedented accuracy with a broadband measurement solution. ART-MAN supports instantaneous measurement of field amplitude and phase. This allows the accurate reconstruction of the radiated near-field electric field. The broadband full-decade SAR tissue (0.6-6GHz) means that the SAR liquids do not have to be filled for different frequency bands. The sealed anthropomorphic head and body phantoms are designed for continuous duty.
