Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. introduced a new TANTAMOUNT® Hi-Rel COTS series of surface-mount solid tantalum chip capacitors for military and avionics applications. The industry's first such devices to feature a metal case and hermetic sealing to meet the requirements of MIL-STD-202, Method 112, Condition A, the Vishay Sprague T25 series offers low ESR down to 180 mΩ at +25 °C and 100 kHz and is available with surge current testing options in accordance with MIL-PRF-55365.
The devices are optimized for timing applications in avionics and munitions systems. For these critical applications, the capacitors offer high reliability with burn-in at rated voltage for a minimum of 40 hours, while their hermetic sealing eliminates any moisture sensitivity.
Offered in the D case code, T25 devices feature a capacitance range from 22 µF to 330 µF over voltage ratings from 16 V to 50 V; capacitance tolerances of ± 10 and ± 20 percent, and an operating temperature range of -55 °to +85 °C, up to +125 °C with voltage derating. RoHS-compliant, the capacitors are available with 100 percent tin or tin / lead terminations.
Samples and production quantities of the new T25 series are available now, with lead times of 12 to 16 weeks for larger orders. Pricing for U.S. delivery is available on request from tantalum@vishay.com.
