Texas Instruments Inc. (TI), announced the election of Robert Furtaw to vice president of Worldwide Semiconductor (SC) Quality, an organization within TI’s Technology and Manufacturing Group (TMG).

As vice president, Furtaw will oversee a global team responsible for ensuring TI meets applicable quality requirements and customer expectations, from product and process technology development through manufacturing and delivery. His team is also accountable for developing and driving the use of methodologies, tools and statistical processes across the company to deliver global, robust products, processes and services.

“Robert’s expertise in manufacturing systems management and deep knowledge of quality requirements position him as an excellent leader of this team and our company. His proven ability to deliver on meeting quality requirements while surpassing customer expectations will further TI’s commitment to quality excellence,” said Kevin Ritchie, senior vice president, TMG.

Furtaw joined TI in 1997 as a manufacturing manager and has since held a number of management positions within the company relating to manufacturing and quality assurance. Most recently, he served as director of manufacturing and supplier quality.

Furtaw earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Michigan State University and a master’s degree in manufacturing systems management from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas.
