Comtech Telecommunications Corp. announced that its Santa Clara, California-based subsidiary, Comtech Xicom Technology, Inc., has been awarded a contract totaling $1.4 million from a major system integrator to supply rack-mount, high-power amplifiers ("HPAs"). The HPAs will be used in an expansion of a system that relays military satellite communications around the world and that is already using similar Comtech Xicom HPAs.
The Comtech Xicom HPAs are uniquely designed for this high-performance SATCOM uplink application. They provide very high levels of RF power and feature Comtech Xicom Technology's new, full-color, LCD touch screen display control panel, designed to configure and monitor the amplifier's performance.
Fred Kornberg, president and chief executive officer of Comtech Telecommunications Corp., stated, "We are happy that our government customers continue to come to Comtech Xicom Technology when they need sophisticated, high-power amplifier technology. Our U.S.-based factories produce high performance systems that are well-suited for the demanding military market."
Comtech Xicom Technology, Inc., a world leader in high-power amplifiers, manufactures a wide variety of tube-based and solid-state power amplifiers for military and commercial satellite uplink applications. The product range encompasses power levels from 8 W to 3 kW, with frequency coverage in sub-bands within the 2 GHz to 45 GHz spectrum.
