HAPPY (CHINESE) NEW YEAR! As our colleagues on the other side of the globe celebrate their holiday, we at Microwave Journal continue the planning for EDI CON 2014, to be held on April 8-10 in Beijing. The conference program is now completed and the exhibition is nearing capacity. You can check out both at www.ediconchina.com. The March/April issue of MWJ China will serve as the show issue for EDI CON, with ad deadlines of February 27th for space and March 6th for ad material. This is an excellent issue to expand your brand in China, through our 10,000 subscriber database and several thousand bonus distribution via the delegate bag at the show.
Speaking of delegate bag distribution, I’m pleased to let you know that the MWJ May IEEE MTT-S IMS show issue will have exclusive (with IEEE Microwave Magazine) distribution in the bag again this year. Your company’s message will be delivered to every registered conference attendee in addition to the distribution on the exhibition floor. It’s not too early to start planning your IMS promotions, both print and electronic. We will be producing our Show Dailies again, which offer exclusive sponsorship of these content-rich newsletters. These are booked on a first-come basis, so make sure to reserve your date early, as they do sell out. We offer many marketing opportunities to drive traffic to your booth and to generate leads, so contact your sales representative for details.
We’re currently working on our March issue and annual Cables & Connectors supplement. The March issue is focused on “Test and Measurement” and is always one of our more popular issues. The C&C supplement will be mailed with the March issue, with bonus distribution at IMS. Advertisers can also take advantage of the “Literature Showcase” added-value in the supplement. Deadlines are February 12th for space and 17th for material.
You may have noticed the promotions for our new “Classified” section on the MWJ website. This new feature allows companies and individuals to post jobs and used equipment/products at a low cost. Check it out under the “Community” button on the nav bar.
Lastly, International editor Richard Mumford and I will be travelling to Barcelona later this month for the annual Mobile World Congress. If your company is participating and would like to arrange a briefing, please let me know. Our schedules are filling up quickly, but we’ll always make time for our clients.
Congratulations to the Seattle Seahawks for their Super Bowl win. It was a truly dominating defensive display. It may be the “Year of the Horse” in China, but it’s not the Broncos year to win the big game.
