Happy New Year! I hope that you’re all rested and ready for 2014. It’s going to be an exciting year for marketing, as the tools to connect and communicate continue to evolve and improve.
At Microwave Journal, we’re starting the year off by featuring “Augmented Reality” in our January issue. This cutting-edge technology brings print to life by embedding video and other rich media into ads and articles in the magazine. The reader simply downloads the free Layar app on their mobile device and scans the augmented content to experience this bridge from the print to the digital world. See Editor Pat Hindle’s article in this edition of The WaveGuide for more information.
The February issue of MWJ is focused on “High Frequency Components, Boards and Systems” and will be distributed at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain and the Satellite 2014 event in Washington, DC. The deadline to reserve ad space is next Tuesday, January 14th, with ad material due by January 17th.
The January/February issue of MWJ China is on its way to our 10,000 qualified subscribers in China and continues to attract new advertisers from across the globe. The March/April edition will serve as the show issue for EDI CON 2014 with bonus distribution at that event and at the electronica China event in Shanghai. If you’re targeting the Chinese market in 2014, this is an excellent opportunity to deliver your message to this growing audience of RF/microwave engineers. We’ll be updating the mwjournalchina.com website in the coming months, adding new features and new marketing opportunities. Stay tuned.
EDI CON 2014 will take place in Beijing on April 8-10. The conference will feature an array of presentations focused on the latest products and technologies serving the high frequency/high speed sectors, delivered by experts from around the world. The exhibition floor is filling up fast and projects to be sold out again this year. There are still some prime booth locations remaining, so contact your sales representative if you’re interested in participating.
Editor David Vye and Western Sales Manager Brian Landy will be roaming the aisles of DesignCon later this month in Santa Clara, California. If your company is exhibiting or attending and you’d like to arrange a meeting, contact Brian or David.
As I write this David and Pat are filming the latest edition of “Frequency Matters,” the bi-weekly video series featuring this dynamic duo of editors. Watch for the release next week on the MWJ website.
I’m looking forward to working with our marketing partners in the year ahead and implementing new ideas and new technologies. It should be lots of fun.
Regards,
Carl Sheffres
