EADS North America Test and Services, a division of EADS North America Inc., announced that its software, hardware and systems development unit has been appraised at Level 3 of the CMMI Institute’s Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) for Development. The appraisal was performed by Delivery Excellence Inc.
CMMI is a process improvement model that provides organizations with the essential elements of effective processes that ultimately improve their performance.
“Through the implementation of CMMI-DEV processes into the EADS North America Test and Services business management practices, we are providing a common environment of continuous improvement,” said Jim Mulato, president. “The ultimate benefit is the establishment of a performance culture that drives consistent productivity and quality gains, leading to greater customer satisfaction.”
An appraisal at maturity level 3 indicates the organization is performing at a “defined” level. At this level, processes are well characterized and understood, and are described in standards, procedures, tools, and methods. The organization’s set of standard processes, which is the basis for maturity level 3, is established and improved over time.
