Teseq Inc., a leading developer and provider of instrumentation and systems for EMC emission and immunity testing, now offers a pulse generator with improved accuracy. The FT 5531, an upgraded version of the FT 5530, supports classic and modern testing standards.
Ideal for use in automotive EMC test systems, the FT 5531 features a 150 ns pulse width that works better during ‘unloaded’ measurements as well as an improved tolerance of 100 ns pulses resulting in superior accuracy and conformity to the standards.
The FT 5531, used by EMC test laboratories and design engineers of electronic and electrical components found in motor vehicles, helps simulate real world disturbances that occur in the electrical systems of cars, buses and trucks as well as helps to facilitate weak-spot analysis and quality assurance during development.
The previous pulse 3a/3b generator by Teseq used inductors as its decoupling method. The enhanced FT 5531 generator is designed using ferrites, reducing overall inductance of the decoupling circuit. The ferrites allow the device under test (DUT) to experience less of a supply voltage drop due to a heavy inrush current, switching event or load change. A special ‘STOP’ button is included on the unit for fast disconnect in case of a DUT error. The FT 5531 is fully integrated into Teseq’s AutoStar 6 immunity software, a comprehensive immunity test management program in its sixth version. AutoStar 6 features full Windows 7 support as well as improvements in graphics, reliability and usability.
Teseq’s upgrade pulse generator is in full compliance with ISO 7637-2 and OEM (vehicle manufacturer) standards. It is a turnkey solution for required automotive transient immunity testing.
This new ‘best-in-class’ pulse generator continues to position Teseq as a leader in quality and conformity of transients in the industry.
