R&S RTO oscilloscopes from Rohde & Schwarz verify compliance of USB interfaces
Today it is hard to imagine data exchange and instrument control without USB. No other interface has achieved such popularity for user equipment, electronic consumer goods and industrial products. As a result, the need for reliable, fast test solutions in development and integration has also increased. New software from Rohde & Schwarz makes the company's high-performance oscilloscope ideal for automated USB 2.0 compliance tests.
Debugging, stability tests and compliance measurements are key challenges when developing USB-capable electronic equipment. Before a product can display the USB logo, it must pass the USB Implementers Forum's compliance tests (USB-IF compliance program). Automatic USB test solutions that adhere to the USB-IF compliance program help manufacturers to pass these tests. Rohde & Schwarz meets this need with the R&S RTO-K21 USB 2.0 compliance test software for its R&S RTO high-performance oscilloscope.
This software offers scenarios for testing USB 2.0 devices (DUT) when functioning as a device, host or hub. The different tests verify the signal quality, the exchange of data packets, the timing between the transmitter and receiver, the receiver sensitivity and much more.
The R&S RTO-K21 USB 2.0 compliance test software runs on a PC. It controls the oscilloscope and the DUT which is connected via a test fixture. Image-based instructions provide step-by-step support during the measurements. The automatically generated measurement report documents the test results: Users can add measurement details and screenshots and output the report in PDF, RTF or HTML format.
The R&S RTO-K21 USB2.0 compliance test software for automated compliance tests on USB interfaces and the R&S RT-ZF1 test fixture set are now available from Rohde & Schwarz.
