Anritsu Co. introduces software options for its MT8820C radio communication analyzer that allows the one-box tester to perform testing of LTE FDD Band 22 and LTE TDD Band 42/43 LTE smartphones and mobile terminals. The extended functionality enhances the capability of the MT8820C, which can be used to test all mobile communications technologies, and allows the inherent cost and time efficiencies associated with the MT8820C to be realized in the development of LTE FDD Band 22 and LTE TDD Band 42/43 LTE phones and devices.
With this new capability, the MT8820C supports new LTE FDD Band 22 (3.4 to 3.6 GHz) and LTE TDD Band 42/43 (3.4 to 3.8 GHz) frequencies, as well as all previous mobile technologies. The new capability adds to the standard 30 MHz to 2700 MHz frequency coverage of the MT8820C.
The new functionality is part of a portfolio of dedicated measurement hardware and software that can be installed in the MT8820C main unit to support any cellular technology, including LTE, W-CDMA/HSPA, CDMA2000®/EVDO, TD-SCDMA, GSM, and PHS. The MT8820C is predominantly used by global mobile device vendors due to its unparalleled flexibility and functionality. Additionally, the cost-of-test and test time advantages of the MT8820C make it well suited for quality assurance and repair facilities.
A single-instrument solution, the MT8820C provides a broad range of test capabilities that include UE calibration. The one-box tester has a patented Parallel Phone Mode (PPM) that allows for true simultaneous testing of two UEs concurrently or simultaneous testing of dual-radio UEs, such as SV-LTE and SVDO.
