Huawei and the Russian operator YOTA Networks have successfully launched the first commercial LTE network in Moscow. YOTA Networks is committed to providing fast and reliable Mobile Broadband Internet to its customers. So, the company decided to provide Mobile Broadband (MBB) based services enabled by a best of breed LTE network and selected Huawei as its preferred technology partner.
In terms of the project, Huawei supplies YOTA Networks with cutting-edge end-to-end SingleRAN LTE/EPC solution and built the commercial LTE network on 2.6 GHz. The solution provides downlink peak rate of up to 70 Mbps and 140 Mbps, depending on the capacity of the radio channel (10 or 20 MHz).
Vice president of Key Customer Operation Department of Huawei in Russia, Ukraine and Belarus, Sergey Varyukhin said: "We are proud to be chosen as a partner of YOTA Networks, and further on we intend to support this operator in the launch of the most advanced services. Huawei has already realized a large number of projects of LTE commercial launch in many countries. The launch of such network in Moscow is a major step in the development of mobile broadband access market in Russia".
The successful launch was preceded by all-round testing during April and May 2012, which demonstrated stability and high availability of the operator’s network.
