Prith Banerjee, senior vice president of research at HP and director of HP Labs, will deliver one of the keynote talks at this year’s DesignCon, which will take place this afternoon from 5 to 6 pm in Room 211 at the Santa Clara Convention Center.
DesignCon 2012, which will be held in Santa Clara, Calif., January 30 through February 2, will provide 100+ sessions as part of the 14 tracks that include technical paper presentations, tutorials, sponsored training sessions, product teardowns, panel discussions and keynote addresses.
"DesignCon is the conference devoted to the exploration of the technologies and techniques designers can apply toward forging the next generation of electronic devices and systems," said Patrick Mannion, director of content, UBM Electronics. "From die through packaging to board and system, the information presented at this year's show will interest every engineer out there involved in design and test."
The conference is headlined by this year's keynote speakers, all representing Silicon Valley-based companies that depend on hardware infrastructure to develop and deliver technology advancements to their end consumers: Prith Banerjee, senior vice president of research at HP and director of HP Labs, and a fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the Association for Computing Machinery and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers; Joe Macri, corporate vice president and chief technology officer of AMD's client division, and chairman of the Jedec JC42.3 Dram Committee and vice chair at large of the Jedec board of directors; Ilan Spillinger, corporate vice president for hardware architecture for Microsoft's Interactive Entertainment Business Hardware division, which leads the Xbox 360 and Kinect architecture development and verification, silicon design, hardware incubation, and business development efforts.
