x2 Active Frequency Multiplier & Low Noise AGC Amplifier for Microwave Radio, Test Instrumentation & Military/Space Markets
Hittite Microwave Corporation, the world class supplier of complete MMIC based solutions for communication & military markets, has introduced a SMT GaAs PHEMT MMIC Low Noise AGC Amplifier, and a SMT GaAs MMIC x2 Active Frequency Multiplier which are ideal for Point-to-Point and Point-to-Multipoint Radios, VSAT, Telecom, Test Instrumentation, Radar, EW, ECM, Space and Fiber Optics applications from 2 to 21 GHz. The HMC463LH250 is a GaAs PHEMT MMIC Low Noise Distributed Amplifier with gain control which operates from 2 to 20 GHz. This amplifier provides 13 dB of gain, 3 dB noise figure and 18 dBm of output power at 1 dB compression, while drawing only 60 mA from a +5V supply. Housed in a hermetic surface mount package, the HMC463LH250 exhibits excellent gain flatness of ±0.5 dB from 2 to 14 GHz, making it ideal for EW, ECM, Radar, Test Equipment, and other high reliability applications. The HMC463LH250 may also be upscreened to MIL-PRF-38535 for Class B or Class S applications. Also announced is the HMC561LP3(E) which is a broadband x2 Active Frequency Multiplier utilizing GaAs PHEMT technology in a leadless RoHS compliant SMT package. When driven by a +5 dBm signal, the multiplier provides +14 dBm typical output power from 8 to 21 GHz, and the Fo and 3Fo isolations are 15 dBc at 16 GHz. The HMC561LP3(E) also exhibits low additive SSB phase noise of -139 dBc/Hz at 100 KHz, making it ideal for use in LO multiplier chains for Point-to-Point and VSAT radios. The HMC561LP3(E) is housed in a 3 x 3 mm RoHS compliant leadless QFN package. Samples and evaluation PC boards for all SMT packaged products are available from stock and can be ordered via the company’s e-commerce site or via direct purchase order.
