Whenever measurements require a high RF performance or you have to characterize the DUT in the operating state, a flexible and powerful network analyzer is necessary. With the R&S ZVA40, Rohde & Schwarz adds another instrument to its high-end R&S ZVA network analyzer family, which now includes models with two and four test ports for the frequency range up to 8 GHz, 24 GHz or 40 GHz. The R&S ZVA40 is based on a fundamental mixing concept and allows you to perform measurements with high sensitivity and large dynamic range. Since the network analyzer features independent and extremely quick synthesizers for generators and receivers, it allows short measurement times. The instrument is ideally suited for sophisticated measurements on passive and frequency-converting DUTs such as mixers, amplifiers and converters. The R&S ZVA40's high output level and power sweep range of more than 40 dB allow the transmission and compression characteristics of amplifiers and mixers to be analyzed without using additional preamplifiers. The network analyzer can also be easily integrated as a receiver and control unit for performing antenna, RCS and radar measurements. Like the other instruments of the network analyzer family, the R&S ZVA40 features an easy and intuitive operating concept. You don't have to be a specialist in network analysis to be able to perform sophisticated measurements quickly and generate comprehensive documentation. Convenient wizards explain all important operating steps by displaying them as graphics, and provide all the basic settings. In addition, extensive online help including detailed examples is provided. The instrument's Windows XP-based user interface allows Rohde & Schwarz service technicians to solve problems by means of remote diagnosis via a remote desktop. The R&S ZVA40 with two ports is now available from Rohde & Schwarz.
