Equipped with new options, the R&S SMF100A now achieves optimum values in output power and single sideband phase noise. The R&S SMF100A, which is designed for applications in aerospace & defense and telecommunications, combines maximum measurement accuracy with expanded measurement functionality.
Cable loss, for example, can cause considerable power loss, especially in the microwave range. To compensate for such loss, the output power of the signal generator must be sufficiently high. The new R&S SMF-B32/R&S SMF-B34 options ensure this by increasing the output power of the R&S SMF100A by up to 8 dB (+23 dBm at 20 GHz, +14 dBm at 40 GHz). With the new options, passive and active components can be tested at very high frequencies without using an external amplifier.
The R&S SMF-B22 option from Rohde & Schwarz also raises the bar for single sideband phase noise. Users will profit from this when performing tests on multipliers and Doppler radar systems, for example. The base unit of the microwave signal generator already features exceptional phase noise performance. But when equipped with the new option, performance is additionally improved – even for signals very close to the carrier frequency. For example, at 10 GHz carrier frequency and an offset of 10 Hz, the improvement is 8 dB.
The new R&S SMF-B32/R&S SMF-B34 options for increasing output power and the R&S SMF-B22 option for optimized single sideband phase noise are now available from Rohde & Schwarz.
