New R&S ES-SCAN EMI Precompliance Software
Munich, 19 October 2007 - R&S ES-SCAN from Rohde & Schwarz is a cost-effective Windows software tool for EMI precompliance measurements. Used in conjunction with the R&S ESPI3 and R&S ESPI7 test receivers, it enables EMI tests on products starting at an early stage of development. Any design modifications that may be necessary can thus be performed early, doing away with costly reworking of the finished product. R&S ES-SCAN stands out for its high user-friendliness, which benefits users who only occasionally perform EMC tests, as well as EMC professionals in test labs. The software performs EMI measurements in line with commercial EMC standards. Preconfigured test setups make it easy to work with R&S ES SCAN. At a mouseclick, the software automatically sets all parameters required for measurements in accordance with the EMC standard selected by the user. Preconfigured setups include transducer factors for antennas and for other test equipment that may be used. Users can also generate configurations of their own, and store them conveniently on the controller. The software presents all results in a straightforward graphical display. The EMI peak values in frequency subranges can be determined automatically, and threshold levels can be selected by the user. These features combine to yield fast data analysis. Using editable frequency lists, the user can run detailed measurements on detected interference frequencies largely automatically and repeat them as required. This reduces overall measurement time and expense for EMI measurements during development. An assistant ("Help Side Bar") provides information on each operating step. In addition, online help texts explain all software functions, so that no operating manual is needed. The R&S ES-SCAN software requires a PC running on Windows XP, at least 20 Mbyte of available hard disk space, and a USB interface for hardlock copy protection. Remote control is via Ethernet or an IEC/IEEE bus card and VISA software. The R&S ES SCAN EMI precompliance software is now available from Rohde & Schwarz.
