Sixteen months after the acquisition of three production centers, Chelton Telecom & Microwave (CTM) has consolidated its activities to obtain quality certification ISO 9001 Version 2000. This adds to the excellent results achieved by the Systems Business Unit in Plaisir, France and the Sales Head Office in Grigny, France.

Since the acquisition of part of Temex’ activities in December 2004, the management of CTM has successfully carried out the integration and the harmonization of its centers of production that are categorized by product ranges — diodes and modules, RF filters and duplexers, ferrite devices, systems and waveguides. Additionally, two business units have achieved further certification — the Waveguides Business Unit, based in Chichester, UK, is certified to EN 9100, while the Diodes & Modules Business Unit is certified to ISO 14001 Version 2004, and already applies RoHS directives, which will be imposed from 1 July, 2006.

The new Quality Management System quickly provides good results enabling the company to give its customers the guarantee that the design and manufacture of components and systems satisfy the required standard criteria recognized worldwide.

Looking forward, André Lever, the company’s customer satisfaction and quality director, revealed the next challenge to be: "The certification to EN 9100 over the next two years, which will enable Chelton Telecom & Microwave to fulfill specific quality requirements established by the members of the aircraft, defense and space industries."
