WiMAX is a technology for broadband mobile radio applications and simultaneously a wireless alternative to DSL. It is based on modern transmission capabilities such as OFDM/OFDMA. The objective is to provide reliable access to high-speed Internet applications. Due to the trend toward mobile applications, WiMAX has a promising future.
