Like Steve Martin in "The Jerk" when the new phone books arrive, I get overly excited when the media kit for the upcoming year lands on my desk. And I am particularly excited this year, as we have some great new things to talk about.
Like China. MWJ had a team of about a dozen people at the International Microwave Exhibition (IME) in Shanghai a few weeks ago. Colleagues from the Norwood and London offices joined with our partners in China to announce the launch of MWJ China, a bi-monthly magazine to be distributed to 10,000 RF and microwave engineers in China beginning in January. The reception was even better than anticipated, with hundreds of new subscribers and many interested advertisers. This new publication will feature the same caliber of technical articles from international authors that you find in the main book, along with localized news, events, analysis and executive/company profiles complied by our China-based editors. If you are looking to expand your brand in China and reach the Chinese RF and microwave engineering community, here is your opportunity. The deadline for booking ad space for the inaugural January issue is December 15th. Check the China page of the new media kit for the 2012 editorial calendar and rates and as always, check with your MWJ representative for more details.
The other major announcement for 2012 is the pending launch of our new website. The site will be completely new; it is not just an update or redesign. It will feature state-of-the-art SEO, integrated Social Media, Channel Marketing, Keyword Sponsorship, improved Buyer’s Guide features and much more. For those of our clients who have been frustrated by the lack of available banner real estate on our existing site, we will have several new options for you to consider. Basic information is available in the media kit, but as we were smack in the middle of the project at press time for the media kit, your best bet is to speak with your rep for the full story.
We continue to expand our portfolio of products. You will see new events, new webinar series’ and other new lead-gen programs. Microwave Journal in print (and digital) continues to be the gold standard in the industry. I am very excited about the content that the editorial team is planning for 2012, and Editor David Vye provides a glimpse in his article for this edition of the WaveGuide.
So get your company’s name in print. Or online. Or at one of our events. And see how “Things are going to start happening to (your company) now.”
Best Regards,
Carl Sheffres
