At IMS 2011, Valpey Fisher Corp., a leading provider of high performance integrated products for timing and frequency control announced its latest product offering: the VFH3225, the industry’s smallest size high reliability/commercial off the shelf (COTS) oscillator which offers outstanding performance for military applications. The device delivers frequency stability of ±50 ppm over -55° to +125°C in a miniature 3.2 x 2.5 mm SMD package meeting the military requirements for Group A, B, or C testing in a small form factor for a wide range of military communications applications.
The VFH3225 offers output frequencies up to 160 MHz in the low-power CMOS output with supply voltages of 3.3, 2.8, 2.5 or 1.8 V. Typical current consumption is as low as 8 mA and to minimize battery drain the device also has an output enable/disable option. Its miniature size, 3.2 x 2.5 mm, allows for efficient use of board space and product designs expansion.
“Today’s demanding military applications require higher frequencies and smaller package sizes,” says John Fortune, Director of Sales and Marketing for Valpey Fisher. “The VFH3225 is the only part in the industry with frequencies up to 160 MHz in a miniature package that can withstand tough environmental conditions like high temperature, vibration and shock.”
