M2 Global Technology Ltd. was presented with the US Small Business Administration (SBA) 2011 Region VI Subcontractor of the Year award during the SBA’s National Small Business Week events in Washington, DC on May 19. This prestigious award is given to companies in recognition of the small-business sector’s valuable contributions as subcontractors for large Federal prime contracts that provide vital products and services to military and civilian customers. The award was presented by SBA Administrator, Karen Mills, to Douglas Carlberg, M2 Global’s President and CEO, at the National Awards Breakfast on May 19.
“M2 Global is honored to have been selected for this recognition, which shows that our dedication to lean enterprise excellence, quality, and customer satisfaction is providing our customers the best value and service in the industry,” Carlberg said at the breakfast.
In the SBA event information, M2 Global was lauded for overcoming adversity and rising above challenges, expanding its customer base to include companies such as Lockheed Martin, General Dynamics, and Raytheon. This year marks the 48th annual National Small Business Week and the 58th anniversary of the SBA. The 2011 events and educational forums were built around the theme, “Empowering Entrepreneurs.”
M2 Global, one of 10 regional winners, was among a select group of premier small business contractors, federal acquisition executives, and business and industry leaders that were invited to attend the SBA event to accept awards for excellence in federal contracting. Lockheed Martin Aeronautics, an M2 Global customer, nominated the company for the award, citing M2’s “hard work, innovative ideas, and dedication to the community.”
