MSC Vertriebs GmbH located in Stutensee, Germany, and Quectel Wireless Solutions Ltd. headquartered in Shanghai, China, have signed a Pan-European distribution contract. Quectel was founded in 2009 by Chinese wireless-pioneer Patrick Qian and focuses on the development and production of high-quality 2G/3.5G and GPS communication modules for smart metering, automotive infotainment, POS terminals, security, tracking and tracing as well as remote maintenance and monitoring.

As one of the fastest growing companies in this market segment, Quectel is an attractive collaborative proposition for MSC. Walter Puhl, head of the RF-department within MSC, explained, “The technical data, quality, reliability and the price of Quectel products convinced us right away. Due to their outstanding technical features and the excellent technical support offered by the manufacturer, Quectel’s wireless-modules are highly suitable for use within a wide variety of cost-sensitive and, at the same time, highly-demanding industrial and automotive applications. Furthermore, the existing pin and functionality compatibility with modules produced by other leading manufacturers enables a fast and therefore cost-saving redesign. Thus, Quectel’s wireless solutions are an ideal match to our existing RF-product portfolio.”

Doron Zhang, Quectel’s Wireless Solutions’ Vice President R&D, pointed out that the company’s demand for high-quality represents an essential point of differentiation compared to some Asian wireless-modules manufacturers.

He commented, “Our innovative wireless modules distinguish themselves by their high sensitivity and transmission capability, very low power consumption and extensive software support. Additionally, the development, manufacture and testing of the offering, e.g. the Quectel M-10 quad-band GSM/GPRS solution and the L10 and L20 GPS-modules are subject to strict quality directives, which are beyond usual industrial standards.”
