CJSC NEC Neva Communications Systems (NEC Neva), a subsidiary of NEC Corp. in Russia, has agreed with VimpelCom Ltd. to deploy the NEC iPASOLINK platform for the transformation of its backhaul mobile transport network. The NEC iPASOLINK will provide VimpelCom with an ultra-flexible mobile transport network agile enough to evolve to next-generation IP-based networks, including LTE backhaul, while meeting the current capacity and service demands of Beeline, its mobile company brand. The system will be deployed in the Volga, central and North-West regions of Russia.
The NEC iPASOLINK Series is a converged flexible platform designed to meet the capacity, topology and intelligence requirements for the transformation of both fixed and mobile networks to the next generation, including 4G LTE. The modular, flexible, all-in-one converged design of the NEC iPASOLINK incorporates packet, microwave and optical technologies. It ensures network operators can deploy high performance, next-generation networks without incurring unnecessary costs.
“Our agreement with VimpelCom is a proof point of the high quality and reliability of NEC iPASOLINK and marks a new dynamic era in the relationship with VimpelCom and NEC,” said Serguey Razmakhaev Deputy General Director of CJSC NEC Neva Communications Systems.
