Saab is to establish a research and development center in India. The aim is to create a sustainable and long-term relationship that will enable the company to co-develop critical technologies with India. This center is part of Saab's future offering for the world market.
“The aim of the research and development center is to transfer to India continuously already identified concrete programs and technologies. The centre will form a bridge between India and Sweden, and together with an initial base of 100 to 300 skilled Indian engineers, form the backbone of the center. The center will stimulate innovation all around India,” said Saab President and CEO, Håkan Bushke.
The areas of focus will cover aerospace, defense and urban innovation, including civil security. The center will be established in close cooperation with Indian partners and universities and will create new innovations, new technology and exporting opportunities for Indian government, academia and industry.
