Title: Enabling System Level Improvements with Novel Schottky Diode Limiters
Date: July 27, 2022
Time: 8am PT /11am ET
Sponsored by: Marki Microwave
Presented by: Harley Berman, Applications Engineer, Marki Microwave
Abstract:
Used in transceiver designs from SATCOM to radar, limiters are crucial building blocks that protect sensitive circuitry from high powered signals. As the operating frequency and transmit power levels of these systems increase, the RF world is scrambling to find novel limiter technologies that can keep up with these system level advancements, which call for a limiter that can exhibit instantaneous recovery times, near-zero spike leakage and thermal properties that allow for unaltered performance in high-power pulsed conditions. Marki Microwave has released a new line of Schottky diode limiters created on a THz process. Join us as we discuss the massive performance benefits that these limiters provide and learn how your system designs can be improved and simplified through the adoption of this limiter technology.
Presenter Bio:
Harley Berman is an Applications Engineer at Marki Microwave’s San Diego office. Since joining the company in 2019, his role has spanned working with mixers, multipliers, limiters and passive devices, to conducting experiments for tech notes, to datasheet characterization and applications support. Berman has contributed to the release of products across most of Marki Microwave’s product families, published seven tech notes on various products and system considerations, and hosted webinars on mixer spurs and the performance of Marki Microwave hardware in quantum information systems. Prior to joining Marki Microwave, Berman was a student at UC Santa Cruz where he obtained a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, graduating with highest honors. While at UC Santa Cruz, he contributed to the RF payload for the school's 2U cubesat project, SlugSat.
