Kratos Defense & Security Solutions Inc. announced  that its Herley EW Simulation Technology Ltd. (EWST) subsidiary has received a single award contract valued at $9.4 million from an international customer for the supply of two of Herley EWST's highly successful RSS8000 Radar Threat Simulator products. The RSS8000 systems will augment a previously supplied RSS8000 system for this certain international customer's aircraft program. 

Raytheon Co. received a $138.7 million contract to provide engineering services for the Patriot Air and Missile Defense System. This is the third of four annual options to the base contract awarded in 2009, which brings the total amount to date to $803 million. These continued improvements enhance the capability of Patriot to face evolving threats.

Comtech Xicom Technology Inc. introduced a new high efficiency, 750 W peak power, Ku-Band traveling wave tube amplifier (TWTA) with the size, weight and prime-power consumption of standard 400 W amplifiers.

AWR Corp. has been issued a U.S. Patent by the United States Patent and Trademark Office for a “block-specific harmonic balance analysis system.” Originally filed on December 3, 2008, US Patent No. 8,131,521 addresses circuit simulation using multi-rate harmonic balancing. Specifically, the invention -- known as MRHB™ and first available within AWR’s 2009 product release -- speeds the design of complex circuits by enabling the effective reduction of analysis dimensions (e.g., frequency or time).

Richardson RFPD Inc. announced immediate availability and full design support capabilities for a group of high performance quadrature modulators and demodulators for operation at frequencies up to 2.4 GHz from Analog Devices Inc. (ADI). The devices offer a combination of performance, broadband operating frequency, and flexible device architecture that makes them ideal for a variety of wireless infrastructure applications, including 2G, 2.5G and 3G cellular base station radios, high-capacity point-to-point and point-to-multipoint radio links, wireless LAN and aerospace and defense equipment. 

M/A-COM Technology Solutions Inc. announced at the OFC/NFOEC Trade Show a portfolio of 100G modulator drivers for line-side and client-side applications.

RFMD’s PowerSmart power platforms are at the forefront of the technology shift to converged front ends in multimode, multi-band applications, including smartphones, tablets, and other data-centric mobile broadband devices.

Hittite Microwave Corp. has expanded its Broadband Time Delay/Phase shifter portfolio adding the HMC911LC4B, which is ideal for 10G, 40G RZ-DQPSK, 100G DWDM RZ Carver clock chain and skew adjustments in the fiber optic domain.

Richardson RFPD Inc. announces immediate availability and full design support capabilities for two newly-released additions to the family of GaAs PHEMT digital phase shifters from M/A-COM Technology Solutions Inc. The MAPS-010146and MAPS-010166 are, respectively, 4- and 6-bit packaged devices that maintain low phase error and minimal attenuation variation over the full 360-degrees and 8 to 12 GHz frequency range.
