XBAW Filter Targets Unmanned Aircraft

RFMW announced design and sales support for a 5 GHz filter from Akoustis. The AKF-1950 utilizes Akoustis’ patented, XBAW technology with low insertion loss for high-performance RF filtering. Capable of handling up to 30 dBm of RF input power, this 5,060.5 MHz bandpass filter offers 61 MHz passband (5,030 to 5,091 MHz) with 2 dB typical insertion loss. Applications for the AKF-1950 include RF filtering for unmanned aircraft systems, control and non-payload communications. The device is assembled in a 2.5 x 2.0 mm ceramic package and is compatible with high volume, lead-free SMT soldering processes.
