Materials

Flexible Circuit Material

These lines of 2L-FCCL adhesiveless all-polyimide flexible circuit materials are available in Rogers R/flex® AP200, a single-clad, cast-on type and Mitsui Chemicals NEOFLEX™ NFX, a double-clad, laminate-type product. Both are available in 250 mm and 500 mm wide rolls. These materials are polyimide-based, made by directly bonding polyimide onto adhesion treated copper foil, without the use of conventional adhesives. This material is well suited for circuits to be used in high density designs, harsh working environments, dynamic flexing applications as well as thin multilayer and rigid-flex circuits.

Glass Reinforced Laminates

The AD350A is a ceramic filled, PTFE-based laminate that provides a highly stable Dk (3.5±0.05) for sensitive microwave applications. The AD450 is a laminate with a dielectric constant of 4.5. It was developed to readily replace FR-4 in most applications where higher frequencies and increased signal integrity are desired. Also, its higher thermal conductivity and lower CTE will greatly benefit higher power designs. AD450 may serve as an option for package size reduction relative to 3.5 Dk without going to 6 Dk. AD10 and AD1000 are both glass reinforced PTFE/ceramic laminates based on a 10.2 Dk.

Software

Ultra-wideband Design Library

This ultra-wideband (UWB) design library is primarily for designers of multiband orthogonal frequency division multiplexed (OFDM) radio systems. The kit, for use with Ansoft Designer,“ allows engineers to generate and detect multiband OFDM alliance (MBOA)-compliant OFDM waveforms for system- and circuit-level simulations. Using behavioral models for all baseband and nonlinear RF elements, the kit enables the simulation of UWB radio systems. In addition, users can perform dynamic co-simulations with detailed, transistor-level descriptions of analog and mixed-signal blocks using Ansoft’s Nexxim® circuit simulator.

WNOP Test Solution

The Propsim wireless network optimization and performance (WNOP) test solution is designed to optimize and verify the performance of 2, 2.5, 3 and 3.5 G wireless networks and terminals. It enables systems to be tested against live network conditions in an accurate, highly controllable lab environment. The solution introduces typical drive test measurements to the laboratory and enables the playing back of field measurements in an air interface emulation platform that introduces real-world channel impairment effects.
