Richardson RFPD announced that it has become an adopter member of the LoRa Alliance™, a nonprofit technology association that promotes an open, global standard (LoRaWAN™) for low-power, wide-area network (LPWAN) IoT connectivity.

With the technical flexibility to address a broad range of IoT applications, both static and mobile, and a certification program to guarantee interoperability, the LoRaWAN protocol has been deployed by major mobile network operators globally. Connectivity is available in over 100 countries, with more countries being added.

As an adopter member of the LoRa Alliance, Richardson RFPD will support the alliance, participate in member meetings and continue delivering tailored, end-to-end IoT solutions to customers. Richardson RFPD offers an extensive line of IoT products, including modules, gateways and components for LPWA/cellular, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and GNSS applications.

“Richardson RFPD is enthusiastic about joining the LoRa Alliance and participating in this important segment of the fast-expanding IoT market. “IoT has been a key vertical market for us for more than a decade, and LoRa’s high-volume, reliable framework is driving a crucial inflection point in IoT adoption.” — Rafael R.
