New Wideband Modules Facilitate Accurate Signal Control. New VVA & Digital Phase Shifter Modules Cover DC to 20GHz!
Chelmsford, MA – September 30, 2008 – Hittite Microwave Corporation, the world class supplier of complete MMIC based solutions for communication & military markets, announces the release of two connectorized control devices for use in point-to-point and point-to-multi-point radio, test equipment, laboratory and military applications from DC to 20 GHz.
The HMC-C053 is a DC to 20 GHz voltage variable attenuator that is housed in a miniature hermetic module and can be used to accurately control signal levels over a dynamic range of 32 dB. This wideband VVA utilizes a simple single attenuation control of 0 to -3V, and delivers fast switching rise and fall times of 3 ns. The HMC-C053 is an attractive choice for AGC or temperature compensation circuits with its excellent port return losses of 15dB and a third order intercept point of +25 dBm.
This HMC-C055 is a 8 to 12 GHz, 4-bit digital phase shifter module that provides 0 to 360 degrees of monotonic phase coverage. With a LSB of 22.5 degrees, the HMC-C055 features a very low RMS phase error of 6 degrees and a low insertion loss variation of ±1 dB across all phase states. Fully matched, this module requires a fixed DC voltage of -5V and is controlled via CMOS/TTL levels of 0 and +5V.
The HMC-C053 and HMC-C055 are each packaged in hermetically sealed modules that feature field replaceable SMA connectors which can be detached to allow direct connection of the I/O pins to a microstrip or planar circuit.
All connectorized module products are available from stock and can be ordered via the company’s e-commerce site or via direct purchase order. Released data sheets are available on-line at www.hittite.com.
